Methanol
Methanol, also called Methyl Alcohol, is an organic chemical produced mainly from Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen. It can be used for diverse major utilizations. First, it can be a replacement for gasoline-based fuels, thanks to its low cost of production and low risk of combustion. Secondly, it is used as a solvent to produce various chemicals such as acrylic plastics, olefins, or organic aromatic compounds. Furthermore, it is also used as an anti-freeze agent and a denaturant in alcohols. Other applications include paints & coatings, pharmaceuticals, automotive, pesticides, and electronics.
